Legal warning

Chiropractic, despite being recognized as a health profession by the World Health Organization (WHO), and having a health nature in most countries of the world, has not been subject to regulation in Spain, therefore it is not considered as a health profession.

As health regulations are a matter of internal law and reserved for the sovereignty of each country, the chiropractic profession in Spain is in a situation of regulatory vacuum.

The Spanish Association of Chiropractors (AEQ) has requested before the Courts and the competent Ministries in matters of Health and Education that Parliament promote the legislative process that recognizes the sanitary nature of the chiropractic profession.

In countries that have legal regulation, the Bachelor's degree in Chiropractic is obtained at the end of the 5-year educational programs. Two Spanish institutions, the Real Centro Universitario María Cristina de Madrid (UCR) and the Barcelona College of Chiropractic (BCC), offer programs (their own degrees, not official).

Meanwhile, these degrees meet all the standards of quality and excellence required by the European Chiropractic Education Council (ECCE), and paradoxically, Spanish graduates will be able to practice as official health professionals in other European countries but not in their own.

AEQ was created and recognized by the Ministry of the Interior in 1986, it includes 200 members who have a university degree recognized by the ECCE, which guarantees compliance with the highest quality standards in the exercise of this profession at the European level.

If you are being treated by a chiropractor, verify and verify that he is a member of the AEQ

Since June 2020, the chiropractic services provided by Guillaume Pablo are exempt from VAT for meeting the requirements required by the Ministry of Finance for health professionals.
